福岛核事故产生的核污染水，接触过堆芯融毁的核燃料，含有多种放射性核素，成分极其复杂。东京电力公司曾声称，核污染水经过净化处理后可去除氚以外的绝大多数核素，试图将公众注意力集中到氚上，以回避其他严重问题，但年又不得不承认，处理后的核污染水也发生过氚以外的核素超标问题。年2月，日方发表的报告显示，经处理后的核污染水仍有73%超标，而且对含氚废水稀释改变不了氚的总量。核污染水不管换什么马甲都是核污染水，一旦排海将对全球海洋环境造成不可估量的危害。
